A lovely, affirming picture book. The softly colored old-fashioned illustrations are calming and quiet. A good bedtime book. I also liked the multi-generational aspects of some of the pictures.

Personally, I like seeing bilingual books since they introduce a foreign language in a non-threatening way. Since the Russian is written in Cyrillic and this book is in the American market, it would help to have a phonetical spelling so non-Russian speakers can sound out the Russian words.
